SEVA BIKASH PUBLIC TRUST – A BEACON OF LIGHT TO THE otherwise DARK WORLD AND IS DESTINED TO TURN THE NATION UPSIDE DOWN
SEVA BIKASH PUBLIC TRUST, hereafter referred to as SBPT, is a Registered Trust was established on 14th September 2004, by a selected band of diligent and committed social workers, who have invested their precious lives for the cause of transformation of a great nation of India with a living hope, through its Programs of Adult Literacy and Children Development programs at the village level of the great country of India.
Seva Bikash made a very humble and modest beginning in the City of Joy Kolkata, in February 2005. The Sole Agenda on which SBPT was focused was to reach lesser and under privileged classes of the population consisting of uneducated adults and children, and to bring them to the light of basic education. In its train, it is also promoting health awareness, social awareness, woman empowerment, and trainings for creating self- employment opportunities.
Under it Adult Literacy Programs the target groups are illiterate adults. To this particular group the world is not fair. Without basic education an adult is blindfolded although he has eyes to see. Illiteracy is like a Pall on the person concerned and remain under self- exile, away from the growth and development of the world around him. He feels himself an alien, to the ever developing social development and goes into oblivion. With the basic education and social awareness he learns to identify and rediscover himself. He learns to respect himself as a man, instead of living a life of a creature. . He becomes a part of social economic development and through exercising of Franchise, he feels that he has a say in the government of the country. An educated man educates his family, his neighborhood and paves way for multiple educated people, moving the wheels of overall development.
Within its Children Development Program SBPT intends to reign in the underprivileged younger generations which constitutes more than 70% slice of the total population of India. Our country have an outstanding feature of containing the largest young population of the world, who in due course will be the stalwarts to lead the nation and the world at large, from the front. SBPT is motivated and focused on these young minds for their education, social, moral, spiritual and moral developments for a better India, in the days to come.
